  1. The Journal of Japanese College of Angiology (JJCA) publishes peer-reviewed original contributions to the advancement of angiology. Submitted manuscripts should not contain previously published material and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  2. Submission to the JJCA is exclusive to the members of the Japanese College of Angiology.
  3. Authors must clearly indicate that clinical investigations have been conducted in compliance with the Ethical Review Board guidelines and regulations, and/or upon obtaining the informed consent from patients.
  4. Authors whose native language is other than English are strongly recommended to have their manuscripts proofread prior to submission. If authors wish to have us proofread your manuscripts, the costs will be covered by authors.
  5. Each manuscript must consist of the following compo-nents:
    1) Title
    2) Running title (50 words or fewer)
    3) Name(s) of author(s)
    4) Name(s) of affiliation(s)
    5) Key words (5 words or fewer for original articles; 3 words or fewer for case reports)
    6) Abstract (200 words or fewer for original articles; 100 or fewer for case reports)
    7) Body (introduction, subject and methods, results, discussion, conclusion, references)
    8)  Tables and figures
  6. An original article does not exceed 3,200 words, including figures, tables, photographs and references. A case report is limited to no more than 1,600 words. The first 6 pages (of original articles) and the first 3 pages (of case reports) in galley proof are free of charge. The cost of additional pages are covered by authors.
  7. Manuscripts should be typed double-spaced.
  8. Use Arabic numerals and Système International (SI) units such as mm, cm, ml, µg, g, N/10.
  9. References should include the following: references are numbered consecutively in the order in which they appear in the text; all authors, when four authors or more, the first three are listed, followed by et al; title of the article; name of the journal; publishing year; volume; complete page numbers. In the case of books, authors, title of the book, edition, publisher, publishing place, publishing year and specific pages must be provided. References should be limited to 25 listings or fewer in total.

  10. Figures and tables except for photographs should be typed, printed in black and numbered on separate pages. Authors must indicate in red where figures and tables should be placed in the text.
  11. Photographs, figures and tables need to be printed on paper due to unconducted tracing process in editing. Authors cover the cost of tracing work if required. A photograph covering a quarter of a printed page is equivalent to approx. 160 words. Authors should retain backup photocopies of the manuscript, figures and tables.
  12. Authors receive page proofs only once.
  13. Submit four sets of the manuscripts (the original and three photocopies) and four photographs. All photographs must be clearly printed on paper. When accepted for publication, submit a revised manuscript on a floppy disk. Refer to “Submission on floppy disk” for details.
  14. Once submission has been accepted, no item is returned. Retain backup photocopies of the manuscripts, photographs, figures/tables, and floppy disks.
  15. No publication fee is charged unless pages of the manuscripts exceed the guideline limits. Refer to the guideline # 6.
  16. Reprints up to 30 copies are free of charge. The cost of a cover page are charged to authors.
  17. The Editorial Review Committee reserves the sole right to make a final decision regarding acceptance and a date of publication of manuscripts. A charge will be levied on urgent publication.
  18. Submission on floppy disk
    1) Once a manuscript has been accepted, an author submit a revised manuscript after reviewing page proofs on a 3.5-inch floppy disk as well as a hardcopy of the same manuscript.
    2) The manuscript is saved as a text file. If not, indicate word processor, software, version.
    3)  A label with a manuscript code number and an author is attached to a disk.
